Salaar: Director Prashant Neel Push The Release Of Prabha's Starrer To The Second Half Of 2022?
Prashanth Neel's upcoming underworld action thriller Salaar, featuring South star Prabhas, is set to release theatrically on April 14, 2022.
Salaar, one of the most expected films across the nation, has been in the news since its announcement. Starring Prabhas in the lead, the actioner is directed by the man who gave Yash KGF, Prashanth Neel. Billed as a Pan-India project, the film is produced by Hombale Films and also features Shruti Haasan in the lead. Salaar is also touted to be one of the costliest productions. Now the latest buzz around the film is that the makers might push the release of the film to the second half of 2022.
Although the film has wrapped a major schedule before the lockdown was imposed, the final schedule still remains to be shot. But as the coronavirus continues to spread, an increasing number of movies are delaying or suspending production. Though the makers of the film made it clear that the action-drama would hit the screens in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam languages in April 2022, it's been speculated that the film might not be able to release on the said date given that all the shootings have been stopped due to the second wave of coronavirus. In this case, the film will have to reschedule its shooting plans. Now the question arises will Neel push the release of Salaar to the second half of 2022?
Quashing all rumors sources close to the film say that the film will stick to its original release plans. "Neel is confident of wrapping the movie by February next year even if the lockdown continues for another month or so. He will speed up the shooting once the pandemic situation comes under control," says the source.
Meanwhile, Prabhas who will be seen as a violent character in Salaar is awaiting the release of his next film Radhe Shyam where he will be returning in a romantic role after a decade. The rebel actor also has filmmaker Nag Ashwin's multilingual sci-fi film co-starring Deepika Padukone, Om Raut's screen adaptation of the epic Ramayana Adipurush in his kitty.
